Dear members of Unifor Locals 2200 and 111,
We want to share an update as we wrap up the opening week of bargaining.
Your Joint Bargaining Committee, Unifor National President Lana Payne and Western Regional Director Gavin McGarrigle raised many key priorities in our opening remarks with the Employer, including cost-of-living pressures, health and safety, and dignity in retirement.
We presented a comprehensive package of proposals, reflecting the issues that you identified and brought to your Bargaining Committees. After the opening of bargaining, the parties met again the following day in order to begin addressing any questions and providing clarity to the proposals that were exchanged.
The parties will return to negotiations on Tuesday, February 10th to continue pushing toward our goal of a fair contract.
